Living with the Renault ZOE EV
The 'video diary' of an Aberdeen owner.
The 'video diary' of an Aberdeen owner.
"Five days after picking up our new (and first) electric car, a Renault ZOE, I undertake the first long/ish journey from Aberdeen to Dundee and back using a Rapid Charger for the first time. This was an experiment for me, trying to get a handle on the usable range on a rather cold day (between 0 and 3 C) in order to understand how easy it will be to drive up and down to Glasgow to see family and friends.
UPDATE: "Today (18 Jan 2014) passed by the Laurencekirk rapid charger that I state in the video is not functioning; it has now been repaired allowing a quick top up." 14 Jan 2014 |
Amateur video of life with an EV in Scotland; demonstrates that its possible to lead a normal daily routine with an electric car and that the occasional long trip when planned properly is a realistic option.
"Two weeks after taking delivery of our new Renault ZOE electric car, which is proving a joy around town for all our daily short journeys, it has a big test. It is Burns' Supper season, and this will involve a weekend trip that will require the use of six different chargers, of various kinds.
Can it be done? Is it sensible? Yes, and it depends. Watch the video for why." 27 Jan 2014 |
